July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day Commemoration Ceremony

    July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day Commemoration Ceremony was held at our university. The ceremony, which was held in the Reyhan Building conference hall, started with a moment of silence for the holy spirit of the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and our Martyrs of  July 15 and the National Anthem.

    Our martyrs are commemorated

     The President of the 15 July Association, İsmail Hakkı Turunç, who attended the ceremony, said in his speech: “Our martyrs and veterans made history on the night of July 15 with their courage, acumen,  determined and upright stance. There is no doubt that our martyrs will always keep their distinguished place in our hearts. Now, every year, on July 15, Democracy and National Unity  Day, we will remember them wholeheartedly and pass on their memories to future generations.”

    Then, our veteran, Mr.Iscan, and the brother of Martyr Fahrettin Yavuz, the relative of the July 15 martyr, Mr. Fuat Yavuz, talked about what they experienced that night. Our Vocational School Director, Prof. Dr. Fatma Celik  emphasized the concept of homeland and gave an emotional speech about the importance of the National Anthem.

    The ceremony continued with watching a video about what happened on the night of July 15 and made by our university students to keep our martyrs alive. After the ceremony, the “July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day Photography Exhibition” in the foyer area of ​​the Reyhan Building was visited.

    Our university has also planted 100 saplings in the Memorial Forest allocated to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Istanbul Regional Directorate of Forestry, in memory of the Martyrs of July 15.
