7 Academics from BİRUNİ on the World's Most Influential Scientists List

The "World's Most Influential Scientists" article by ScienceDirect, Elsevier's leading peer-reviewed academic literature platform, "PLOS Biology", has been published. While many scientists from the world and our country took part in the list of the world's most successful scientists, 7 academics from Biruni University took part in the category where the last 5-year publications were ranked according to the citation effect, they achieved an important success. 

The results of the "World's Most Influential Scientists" research conducted under the coordination of Stanford University, headquartered in the United States, were announced. As a result of the research conducted by Prof. Dr. John P. A. Ioannidis and his team by examining the scientific studies of approximately 7 million researchers who carried out studies in different sub-disciplines between 1996 and 2022 and had at least 5 article publications, the scientists who entered the 2nd percentile were included in the "World Top 2% Scientists" list.

The list that emerged as a result of the research, in which the researchers were evaluated in line with scientific data such as the number of scientific articles, h-index, hm index of multi-author publications, citation / article ratio, was determined by a commission consisting of scientists from the United States and the Netherlands. -Turkish scientists were also included in the list.

After the announcement of the list, an evaluation was made by our rector Prof.Dr. Adnan Yüksel, expressing his satisfaction with the scientific studies carried out at the university and the results of these studies. He said, "we support all kinds of scientific studies carried out at our university financially and morally. We have significantly increased our Scientific research project support. I believe that the name of our university will be mentioned more frequently and more qualitatively in the upcoming period. He congratulated our faculty members who succeeded in entering the 'World's Most Influential Scientists' list and wished them continued success.
