Information About The Processing Of Personal Data

    As Biruni University, we attach importance to your security and, in this context, we would like to inform you about the "Personal Data Protection Law", which is designed to protect the fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals, especially the privacy of personal life, and to protect personal data.

    Biruni University ("University"), in accordance with the Law on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK) number 6698, as "Data Supervisor", can process your personal data within the framework described below.

1.Collection And Processing Of Personal Data

    Biruni University carries out personal data processing activities in accordance with Article 20 of the Constitution and the principles contained in Article 4 of the KVK Law. It preserves personal data for the period stipulated by law or as required by the purpose of personal data processing.

    Although your personal data may vary depending on your relationship with our University, it can be collected verbally, in writing or electronically by the units of our University, website, social media channels, mobile applications and similar means, automatically or non-automatically. Your personal data can be created and updated as long as your relationship with our University continues.

     

    Your Personal Data;

    Your name, surname, TR ID number, passport number or temporary TR ID number, place and date of birth, marital status, gender, university-specific student number and other identity data whereby we can identify you; your financial data, your address, telephone number, e-mail address and other contact data, payment and billing information; audio and digital information that may be obtained by us from time to time by electronic or non-electronic means; your camera recordings and images during your stay at our university; if you use the car park, your vehicle license plate; your general and private personal data; your data, including but not limited to your financial data such as payment and billing information, will be processed by our university for the purpose of financing and planning education and training services.

    In addition, your personal data may be processed when you use our Biruni University call center or website, participate in training, seminars or events organized by our University, or visit or browse the websites.

    Your personal data will be processed within the personal data processing terms and purposes specified in Articles 5 and 6 of the KVK Law.

    Your personal data, including your special personal data,

    • Your personal data collected: for carrying out the necessary studies for you to benefit from the services of our university by the relevant departments, introducing our University and its activities, and benefiting from the products and services offered by the University,
    • The Higher Education Law, the relevant secondary regulations and meeting the educational activities and supervision and other obligations imposed by the Higher Education Council (YÖK), continuing education, scientific research, publication and consultancy activities, establishing the rights arising from educational activities within the scope of higher education legislation and University internal regulations, ID card production, printing and various academic and administrative procedures,
    • Listing, reporting, verifying, analyzing and evaluating, producing statistical and scientific information, analyzing your use of our website, mobile applications and other communication channels, and making customizations for you,
    • It will be processed within the scope of protecting and fulfilling the rights and obligations of students studying in the relevant departments and doing internships in the units within the University or in institutions outside the university.

     

    Including the protection of life and property safety of university students / employees / visitors and compliance with the rules regarding the rules stated in this article; your data can be used in order to fulfill the requirements or requests of legal obligations, judicial bodies or authorized administrative institutions. Data can be transferred to computing infrastructures, cloud computing systems, and archived in electronic or physical environments in order to fulfill legal obligations by taking necessary security and legal measures.

    If you become a member of one of the University Student Clubs, your personal data can be processed in order to keep the records stipulated by law, by the association, foundation, non-governmental organizations and the University to which the club is in contact, and can be shared with legally authorized public institutions and private persons if necessary.

    Your personal data collected: to research and develop our services and your personal selection possibilities therein, to contact you directly through the communication channels you have shared with us for market research, to ensure and continue your registration to the University, to benefit from these services within the scope of the business and academic processes of the University and educational activities.

    • In line with the purpose of carrying out the University Human Resources policies; in accordance with the University's Human Resources policies; operations, procurement of personnel suitable for open positions, fulfillment of obligations and taking necessary measures within the framework of occupational health and safety as set out in the Labor Law, Social Security Law and other legislation regulating business life,
    • Within the framework of contracts made or activities carried out with third real or legal persons who are in business relations with the University; for the fulfillment of legal and commercial obligations, the fulfillment of obligations arising from contracts made by the University with its business partners / customers / suppliers (authorized or employees), right establishment, protection of rights, commercial and legal assessment processes, legal and commercial risk analysis, legal compliance process, financial execution of works,

     

    In line with the purpose of determining and implementing the commercial and business strategies of the University; financial operations carried out by the University, communication, market research and social responsibility activities, purchasing operations (request, offer, evaluation, order, budgeting, contract), Determination and implementation of university commercial and business strategies, In-university system and application management operations, legal management of operations will be processed, along with their objectives.

2.Persons And Organizations To Which Your Personal Data Can Be Transferred

    Your collected personal data: To continue educational activities at the university, to ensure the legal and commercial security of our University and the people who are in business relations with our University, to ensure the physical security and control of the university facilities and buildings in internal and external locations, for the purposes of conducting legal compliance processes, to fulfill finance and financial affairs, determining and fulfilling commercial and business strategies; to business partners, to authorities such as the Higher Education Institution, SSI, to legally authorized public institutions such as ministries and judicial authorities, when permitted by the legislation, organization, parties, contracted organizations, payment systems organizations, within the framework of personal data processing conditions and purposes specified in Articles 8 and 9 of Law No. 6698.

3.Method Of Collecting Personal Data And Its Legal Reason

    Your personal data is collected through written / digital applications made to websites, social media, call center, printed forms, forensic record scanning, SGK records, your browsing movements on the website, and channels through which our university communicates with you or can communicate with you in the future, and is stored throughout its legal period.

    Your personal data collected by these methods can be processed and transferred for the purposes specified in articles (b) and (c) of this information within the scope of the personal data processing conditions and purposes specified in Articles 5 and 6 of Law No.6698.

4.Your Rights For The Protection Of Personal Data

    Regarding your processed personal data, in accordance with the legislation:

    • To learn whether personal data is processed or not,
    • To request information if personal data has been processed,
    • To learn the purpose of processing personal data and whether they are used appropriately for their purpose,
    • To know the third parties to whom personal data are transferred domestically or abroad,
    • To request correction of personal data in case of incomplete or incorrect processing and to request notification of the transaction made within this scope to third parties to whom personal data are transferred,
    • Although it has been processed in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 6698 and other relevant laws, to request the deletion or destruction of personal data in the event that the reasons for its processing disappear, and to request notification of the transaction made within this scope to third parties to whom personal data has been transferred,
    • Object to the occurrence of a result against the person himself by analyzing the processed data exclusively through automated systems,
    • You have the right to demand the compensation of the damage in case of damage due to unlawful processing of personal data.
