‎From YÖK to our University‎ Unobstructed Accessible University Flag Award‎ in Two Categories

According to the results of the "Barrier-Free University Flag Awards 2022" organized by YÖK; Our university was deemed worthy of the Unobstructed Accessible University Flag Award in 2 categories: Orange Flag in the category of "Space Accessibility" and Blue Flag in the category of "Accessibility in Social and Cultural Activities".‎‎ ‎

    ‎‎114 universities applied‎‎ the continuous improvement of the technical and physical conditions required to ensure that our disabled students reach the campus environment smoothly in the fields of education, culture and sports was deemed worthy of an award by YÖK. Speaking at the 2022, Unobstructed Accessible Universities Award Ceremony, the President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, the President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), presented the ‎‎‎"Unobstructed Accessible University Awards" from 114 universities this year. They reported that they received 1074 applications and that 84 universities were entitled to receive 384 flags. Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, President of the Council of Higher Education, announced that our University won the orange flag award in "Space Accessibility" and the blue flag award in the category of "Accessibility in Social Cultural Activities".‎

    ‎Our Rector Prof. Dr. Adnan Yüksel said that our university sets out with the slogan "Accessible corridors, Accessible garden, Accessible classrooms" and that it always continues to work to make students' lives easier on campus and to increase their success. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Adnan Yüksel stated that our disabled students at our university have access to the educational environment without any problems and said, "We have done all the necessary work to ensure that our disabled students can access the campus in the easiest way and benefit from the courses in the most effective way. As Biruni Family, we are always with our students."‎


    ‎ ‎‎What is the Orange Flag?‎‎ ‎
    ‎ ‎‎The Orange Flag means accessibility in space. Orange flag; laws, regulations, zoning plans, regulation provisions, national and international standards regarding the regulation of open, semi-open and closed areas for disabled individuals are given to universities that strive at a certain level in terms of compliance with science, health and environmental conditions.‎

    ‎ ‎‎The Blue Flag represents accessibility to socio-cultural activities. It is given to universities that support and encourage the measures and services taken for the access and effective participation of disabled students in social and cultural activities.‎
