The 85th anniversary of the passing away of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, was commemorated with a ceremony held at our university.   The commemoration ceremony held in the Conference Hall was held with the participation of our academics, administrative staff and students.  The ceremony started with the sound of the siren at 9:05 a.m, the time Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk lost his life. A moment of silence for the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and all our martyrs and then our National Anthem was sang. Firstly, our Dean of Dentistry Prof. Dr. İlknur Özcan made a speech on the meaning and the importance of the Day.   Our Dean of Dentistry underlined that Atatürk was a unique leader and said, "Atatürk brought our homeland to the level of modern civilisations with what he brought us throughout his life. November 10th is not a day of mourning. It is a day to reiterate our promise. We salute the eternal memory of Atatürk with these thoughts and feelings. His mortal body is in Anıtkabir, but his spirit and love are in your and our hearts." Then, after the presentation on "Atatürk through the Eyes of Youth" prepared by Batuhan Yurtsever, İremnur Ata and Berk Gökçe, from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, and the reading of Ataturk's 'Address to Youth` with Ataturk's voice created with Artificial Intelligence, the whole hall experienced moments full of emotion.
